I have a site here an old folks home that doesn't want the inmates to have to dial 9 for all outside line calls. I have told the tech to setup a Hot Line on their exts to hotline to digit 9 after 1 second and it will play ARS dialtone. So far so good. However they also want to access the system VMS, These users are using analog fones. I see in MB 44.05.01 the entries are 0~100 and 255. 255 is an extension call but for the life of me I can't seem to find any info on how to make this work or even if this will work. I was hopping to be able get the user to dial 7 (a spare office code here) and via ARS they would be routed back to the mail GP pilot which is digit 7.

Anyone gotten any pointers ??

Thanx in advance..

Have you tried extending the timer to 10 seconds They have longer to dial internally including VMS then the call goes to external if they do nothing.

neccomms is absolutely correct.21-01-09 or you can set their phones to prime line out in
15-01-02
and for example you could set up ars for example 111 equals froute and in the froute for 45-05-01 have it 255(internal dial tone) and then
45-05-03 put a value
which will lead you to 45-06-01
(put your VM pilot Number).
This wont have any funny tones playing after old people finally find there phones.
THE OTHER SOLUTIONS WOULD BE DTERM 6 Buttons analog phones, with fixed speed dials one for outside 1 for VM

Thanx for your replies.

NECcomms. I need to get the user to access ARS as soon as possible so 21.01.09 is set for 1 second.

Ham. Your example seems sound but it won't work here. Maybe there is some difference between the US and Australian software loads as when I set up your method I get reorder tone after I dial the last digit of the number in 26.02 pointing to the Froute table instead of going to voicemail or any other local station number I put in 44.06.01

I've passed this on to the NECA tac for comments..

Update. I just routed this to a analog trunk with a digi graber on it and it appears that MB 44.06 is being ignored and the system is outputting what I dial to the ARS..

Update #2 It appears that MB 44.05.02 and 03 are only used if the digits originate via MB 44.02.01 and 11.01 dial level is set to Froute.
Looks like I'm screwed here.. may have to use Hams suggestion of multi button analog fones..

Try the ARS Checker Tool in PC Pro this has helped me in the past.....if you have any ARS Treatments 26-03 this will over ride. But I FAILED TO TELL YOU IN 44-05-02 YOU WANT TO DELETE THE AMOUNT OF DIGITS YOU ARE DIALING other wise it will dial exactally what you dialed.
In Pc Pro 2.0 and up there is a Simulater under Tools I know for a fact its not in 1.01 Pc Pro.

Now I hust looked at an old databse that we had to do Paging across the Network, and besides the Point Codes and etc.
We didnt use it through ars.
What we did was in 11-01 set what we are dialing to an Froute. If you have Conflicts in numbers you can certainly use dial Extension Analyze but you will have to put all of your extensions in 11-20. Not a biggy.
So after that go to 44-02 Put your entries in there, then under the froute put Max digits of the whole entire dialing sequence what your dialing and what its going to actual dial44-05-09
example I say 8 Im dialing 1234 but in 44-06 Im sending 2500 VM Pilot. Sett 44-05-01 to 255
And then in 44-05-2 set that to 4 or the amount that your actually dialing and 44-05-03 will point to what you want it to dial in 44.06
Because ars is used for outbound,I ran it though the Simulator and no go. this is setup for paging and parking calls across the Network if Net Link is not available. For example I dial 15@@ it strips 15@@ on the other side and dial *06 and I then manually in put the Park number. Hope this helps if you want to send me a copy of your database send me a PM but most certainly if you can call NTAC that would be your savior.
