I'm hoping someone can help me out - I inherited the job of installing a new Aspire S system at a new clients retail location. They have 2 other Aspire S's at two other locations. Setting up the sytem as a stand-alone went fine. I was able to find a manual on installing PCB's, etc.. Then I was able to change the IP address to match the network and gain access across our VPN to the other two sites.
The problem I am having is that I cannot dial an extension on either of the other two sites. I copied the setup of the other remote site (connected to the main location) line by line - or at least I think I did. I kept my change to IP address of the new remote system, and added the new remote system IP to the other two systems NTCPU setup (10-12-01) and vice versa as I had seen in the other remote system.
I tested to make sure I was able to connect to extensions within the new location and I can, but I get a fast busy when I try to dial a remote extension. So then I asked a person at the remote to try our new extension, and they too got a fast busy.
Could really use some direction on where to look. I've obviously missed a setting or two someplace. This is my first install of an Aspire S.
Thank you in advance for you assistance.
Kevin

Oops - I meant that I added the new remote IP information in the H.323 System Interconnection with Application Setup (10-27-01 and 10-27-02). and vice versa on the new system.
Sorry Kevin

Ok, first question, how does one get "stuck" installing a phone system they are not certified for and cannot be bought over the counter?

I have no idea how they got the phone system. It was there on the wall, but not installed by any of the phone installers in the area, because this installation is in the mountains and there are no installers in the area. I have worked on avaya systems in the past and was asked if I would configure the system while I was there doing IT tasks. As I said I was able to accomplish this task, but I have one last item to accomplish - being able to dial extensions at the main and other remote location. I'm sorry to offend you if I have. I'm trying to make a living and help out a client. If anyone can be of assistance I would appreciate it. I have gone through the list of options again and there was one I missed having to do with frequency of 729? instead of 711? (not there yet today). So I changed those settings to match the main location. Again, I am sorry if I offended anyone - it is not my intension.

Which Setting will show me what you want to know? I have set this system to have a number plan starting with 4, and 3 digit extensions. I have not setup any restrictions that I know of however I did replicate the other remote locations settings on this system as best I could.
Thank you for your help.

No offense taken. I would first ask, do you have a voip card in the system to make this happen?

Thank you. Yes I have a VOIP card in. I think I have it working now. I think I have miss understood a setting in 11-01 which messed up the dial plan. I had set the number of digits to 4 when we are on a 3-digit extension plan. I appreciate your assistance, and I am very glad I found the forum. I found this a very helpful place to find answers.
Thank you all.
