installed an 8100 that was cutover from an avaya merlin majix, I used the existing door phone/opener, and it works except for the ** feature which should open the door strike from the called phone. The door opener just connects to a spare CO port on the 8100 and the communication portion works fine, the user just can't dial ** to open the door from the 24 button front desk phone. On the doorphone speaker I can hear the DTMF but it doesn't trigger the door latch? Any setting that could cause this? Doorphone model # is c-1000

Try the Recall Button instead of **. Also Do You Have this Connected to a PGD?

No it is connected to Loop start co port that i assigned to the front desk. It does ring the desk and you can communicate but ** doesn't work. Tried recall with no luck

Well According to the Book in order to Get the Relay to work the Doorbox must be connected to a PGD. I'm not sure also that a Avaya Product will work with NEC. I'm sure NTAC will tell you "Sorry Not Supported" :bang:

Got it fixed Rickman, there was a little switch labelled talk battery, guess the avaya didn't need it. Thanks for your help...
