A tech put a PKU expansion chip on a CPU II to test a system problem. Later on when he removed it it would not come back on line. He removed the battery, defaulted the data base, re-flashed the firmware. Nothing worked. I remember that there was this same problem on the old IPK as well. Does anyone know how to set this back to its original condition?

No can do.
As afar as I know once you add the PKU chip to an IPKII cpu the only way to set it back to 64 ports is to send it back to NEC.
The IPK CPU would allow you to add/remove at will, the IPK II.... not so much.

Does anyone know how to set this back to its original condition? PM me and I'll send the info on how to get a IPK2 CPU back to basic.. Problem is though that this process remove all your paid licenses and you will have to reload all your CPU licenses again so you may need to contact NTAC about getting them cleared before you go ahead and do it....

The IPK will work after it is removed, but the IPKII will not. Once the PKU is installed on an IPKII CPU, that CPU will not function without a PKU on the board.
