Does anyone know what holds the system time on the 8100. Is it the CPU battery or is there something on the CPU that holds it. We have a customer who has to adjust there clock 2 or 3 times per week as it falls behind. Will the NTP server in maintenance keep the clock steady and does anyone know a free NTP server address that can be used?
Thanks

Setting up NTP will keep the clock set but has some nasty side effects.
We found that when using NTP, if you also have a UM8000 mail and the 8100 is set for automatic daylight savings time, the UM8000 will delay delivery of mail messages for that hour. The user's msg light will turn on, but they will not be able to playback the message for one hour, unless they are using Unified Messaging. Then the message will be delivered to the user as normal.

D, thanks for the info. They have an inmail 8000. Could this be addressed with changing out the CPU battery with a new one. I know on some other systems I have worked on the CPU battery holds the time. This is the first time I have come accross this issue on an NEC UX or SV8100.

I wouldn't think the CPU battery would need replacing.
To tryout NTP:
10-12-xx make sure you have a valid ip/gateway 90-11-11 make sure you have a valid DNS 90-56-01 turn on NTP 90-56-02 (try 208.66.175.36) input an internet NTP site.
