What would be the best system to install, to protect hospital staff in a psychiatric hospital if attacked by a patient. A system that would alert security for help?
If wall positioned buttons are installed - surely these present a nuisance factor with patients having access to them. Also.. what if a staff member is attacked and can't reach the button??
Is there a typical system installed for this situation??
Any help would be appreciated!!

There are wireless unit that the nurses can wear that have a panic button that will sound an alarm. There are also some that will sound the alarm if laid over on side as if someone fell.

Panic buttons on pendants would be my recommendation. What is the opinion of the security staff at the hospital?

This sounds like a an application for a nurse call system. Look at Dukane, Rauland, etc...
