I just wanted to let you guys know that Norton ghost seems to do a good job when you want to image drives. I just made 4 drives with the Key Voice software on them and they work great.

I think it works best in this scenario. Have a removable drive bay where you can insert a new HDD. You also should partion your main drive to add another logical drive, say Drive E. When you image or copy the original drive, copy it too the new logical drive. Then remove the original, insert a new drive, and copy from the logical drive. It seems to work pretty good. Going to do some Rhetorex drives tomorrow. Some of my Key voice drives are starting to fail after years of running 24 hours a day. It will be nice to have some spares on hand.

You are correct on the ghosting, what a great tool!!

I have a hard drive with all the images I have built for just that.

If I get a down drive. I can reimage a new drive in minutes and have that machine back up and working.

If I have done my job right,I have a backup drive in the voicemail with a couple of days worth of full backups. I can xcopy them back onto the new drive and the customer is back up with all messages left up to the backup time that morning.

If anybody has any backup procedures they would like to share. let me know, I am always looking to improve.

a seamless automatic backup for DOS would be great. I know we have talked about it on the board, but I don't remember where we left it.

I do have a seamless backup for the dos version of keyvoice.

I have it backing up to a seperate drive everynight. The seperate drive is set up to hold 4 days worth of backups. keep in mind the messages saved increases the amount of space needed for the backup. I can get 4 days backup on a average voicemail. sometimes I need to take it down to two or three.

Z-MAN, Email me if your interested on how I set it up.
