Hey there,
We're in the market for a PC-Based voicemail system for a special application.
First, we need to be able to create unique user accounts on the voicemail system using custom web services we've written in Ruby on Rails.
These users need to then be able to call an 800 number, enter their user ID number and password and record voicemails. These voicemails then need to be saved locally in .wav or a comparable audio format. The filenames of each written voicemail must be stamped with the unique user ID number so that the backend can then take the .wavs and match them up against user accounts.
We're looking to find the cheapest solution we can, ideally on a local Linux or Windows box.
I've strated to look into NCH Swift Sound and Sunny Beach's Active Call Center solutions. Being generally unfamilar with the territory, I'm not sure I'm on the right track.
I'd appreciate some guidance on which direction we might be able to take with this, any advice is much appreciated.

Try Voicegate.com and look at their call logging product or their ICS mail
If either appeals to you give them a call and see if they can do what you want out of the box or with mods
good luck

Okay, the part with sorting wav files by username / datestamp is a bit tough... But the NEC AD-64 will do just about everything else. And saves as a wav file.
