hello guys one of my customers bought the funiture from another business. it came with a system and an aleen voicemail. later they want to use this systen so i took the vm with me. i cant log on to it. i have a vms software 7.01 and the unit is 7.41. i got the program software from the manufacture. should this one work with the vm. it says it cant connect with the comport. thanks dave

That should be the correct software. Are you using a regular serial cable ? Have you tried programming with DTMF?

i used a cable i have used in the past on other aleens. it isnt connedted to a system and so i didnt try the dtmf prog. can i connect to a co line and call into it. it is a light and i i am using a usb port and i tried all four choices for comports on the program set up.

Plug it into a SLT port on a system then try calling it. Some of the USB-serial adapters don't play will with other equipment.
