I've been thinking of buying a sattelite radio and was wondering if any of you had any recommendations as to units or wether to go with XM or Sirrus. Since I'm cheap I would like a unit that I could transfer between the work and personal vehicles without a whole lot of trouble. I've been looking at several units but I don't know enough about them to decide what would be best. Anyway, just wondering if any of you have had any experience good or bad with them.

Well I don't now anything about them, can't see spending the money for the unit and also paying a monthly fee for the service just for music when I get it for free now by pushing my power on the radio in the truck and car. Just my two cents.

I use one on my motorcycle, XM is great and cheaper then sirrius. I really like it on long trips and it transfers easily, not sure what brand the radio is but I got it at wall mart for 99 bucks I think. mark

they are both about the same as far as programming and options. 12$ for the first unit and 6$ for additional units. I think the concept is great and if your on the road a lot, it's well worth it. There is no comparison to radio, recently all radio stocks have been down graded due to the overkill on the advertising, nearly 25 min per hour. And when the music resume, you get to listen to the same 5 songs over and over and over and over and over agian. I would do search and see which one is stronger in the market and go with that. https://story.news.yahoo.com/news?t...ty/20040617/va_mu_ne/ad_glut_rocks_radio ~nails

Thanks, guys I bought an XM tonight and love it already. I quite listening to "music" radio about the time Achy Breaky Heart came out and started listening to talk radio. I'm with you nails, I get tired of hearing the same song over and over, plus it's hard to find my kind of music on any stations around here. It's worth it to me for 9.99 a month to listen to what you want with no commercials. Thanks again.

I know you've already decided on the XM, but Sirius lets you hear all of its stations via the internet without having to pay extra. So you can listen to Sirius on your computer at work or home.

Dish TV just started playing Sirius too! Plus, they have traffic reports, which is a plus, because once you start satellite radio, you'll stop listening to local!!!!

I have XM in my truck, I really like it. Not having to listen to commercials is my favorite part. Although some of the DJ's can be annoying, especially the 80's station. Plus, if you like listening to talk radio, there is alot of that too.
I thought you said that your system was down...
