https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=64079&item=5743832669 This guy would lose money even if he was a distributor with great pricing unless he sells at least (6) or (7) phones. How can he sell equipment that costs resellers $699 for $220 with shipping included? NEC is not designed in pricing to make up for losses with bulk phone sales. Anyone have any thoughts.

This is what I have observed at some Panasonic sites. Customer buys system. they tell them it simple to install and set up. Custome buys all the install goodies they offer. Seller provides 1 hour free tech support by phone, $90.00 per hr. after that or use email (LOL) The first hr tech support is used up just explaining how the system functions so they can figure out how they want it programmed. Customer finds out they can't figure it out so seller sends his local contact out to wire it in and sells customer 2 $25 modems for 199.00 each for them to remote program @ $90.00 per hr. etc. etc .etc.

That was my feeling, I tried to post on ebay, custom program everything, included a punch tool, modem, cross connect, tailed out and mounted NEC DS2000 with all equipment installed, true free tech support, and there was very little interest. It seems like you have to be dishonest, sell a system for $50 and $160 shipping, make people think they are getting a deal knowing you will nail them in the long run. I contacted the guy I posted here and asked how he can lose money to sell a system. He said if they buy 8 phones I make $150, then did not respond when I pointed out that if they buy only 6 or 7 he loses money. It's pretty sad when you have to trick the customers into buying cheap and loading on the back end when they are locked in. I have talked to other vendors that have the same problem, they are struggling because they are honest and the customers are too willing to believe the dealers offering a quote for half of yours are the best way to go even when you point out that their quote left out thousands of dollars worth of equipment that the customer said they had to have. It cuts the market and forces everyone else to be dishonest to survive.

seems to me the problem is the buyer who is trying to circumvent the true marketplace and score a cheap deal. like everything else in the world- you get what you pay for.......
