I remembered a topic from the past with this heading and after yesterday I totally agree. A florist with 10 button wall mounted 1A2 sets wanted to ID two telco lines --- "What do you charge ?" I told her and there was a lot of silence. "How Much?" It's less than the cost of a dozen red roses for the wife. She said she'd have to call back. Later I stopped by a cell store where the owner and I have been friends for years. "Did XYZ florist call you ?" he asks. Yes, she had called him also (Yellow Page shopping) and also wanted advertising MOH added. "What do you mean it costs to do that?". I guess flowers and deliveries are free at her shop.
Then the Ansuzi guy --- can't you keep me working while you send it in to be fixed? A 15 year old KSU. Wouldn't understand no other KSU would support his sets. Like I'd have a KSU setting around to support him while his gets fixed? Why not? His son said get something to work. Dad and son had words --- call me when you settle it. (Son called later and I'll be changing out to a used Panasonic 61610 Monday.)
Had the sheriff show up. (I've known this guy since he was in diapers.) The annual bicycle rally to the next town will be going by in the morning. The county road will be obstructed by these people. No access for the morning. These are mostly Army officers without a life who spend more on a bicycle than I did on my last service truck. Makes you wonder about a guy in bright tight pants with his butt up in the air. Why me? Because I pay for taxes, registration, and road use where bicycles don't and the county won't close the road for me if I wanted to have a Corvette road race rally. I am the local rabble rouser! And the sheriff likes his coffee black. He knows the pot's on.
I need to mow the ranch. Three mowers, all need repair, my trailer to haul them is elsewhere, and I'm out of fuel (at $2.21).
Gee, Why Me? Some days it just doesn't pay.
As in the other post, I hear my friend Jim Beam calling,-- and calling,-- and calling.
