An after hours call was placed to an equipment repairman from a Plant Manager. It seems one of the machines at the front of an assembly line was non functional causing the entire line to stop production. Upon arriving, the repairman quickly suryveyed the machine with the anxious plant manager in tow. After a few momonts of thought the repairman reached into his toolbox and produced a small hammer , walked over to the machine and slightly tapped the side of the machine which resumed normal operation. The repairman then proceded to fill out his invoice for $201.00 and handed it to the plant manager. The manager became irate and said he refused to pay $201.00 for the repairman simply tapping the machine with the hammer. The repairman suggested to the manager that he did not read the invoice carefully enough, that he had itemized the invoice for the services performed. He said, if you'll notice, I only charged you a Dollar for hitting the machine with a hammer....I charged you $200.00 for knowing where to hit it.

Ha Ha! good one.
I was on a job where a plumber was setting a toilet in a doctors office. A doctor walked in and asked the plumber, who never looked up from his wax seal, how much to install 2 bathrooms in the suite next door. The plumber said 125 an hour plus material at 15% mark up. The doctor said, man I don't make that kind of money and I'm a doctor! The plumber, still not looking up, said, I know, when I was a doctor I couldn't make that either, that's why I'm a plumber now. True story. I was on a ladder running wire laughing so hard I had snot coming out my nose.

I'm about 95% there. I have to have my septic system replaced due to trees pulling up the leech lines when they fell. Have to wait until that's done to put the fence back up. Insurance has paid for a new septic system, have 10K in my pocket but can't get anybody to do the work. The county is making me go back with a "Mound" type system that apparantly will require a 20 x 20 x 20 hole, then build it up 27" on top of that. Either most of the companies don't have the proper equipment to tackle the job, or there are so many easy jobs around they don't want to get tied up on mine. All in all though I'm in much better shape than some. I hurried to get the inside finished before x-mas and cut a few corners on touch up painting an such, now I'm having a hard time making myself move everything around again to finish up. I've moved the entire contents of my house at least 3 times already.
