Hmmm....

I can't say exactly the best perk, but a fond memory is installing a system in a downtown Chicago lawyers office back in '88. He was a friend of the 'family'. It was an after hours cutover and he left us alone and said "...just make sure to lock the door when you leave, oh and by the way, when you guys are done help yourselves to the bar...".

It was a Friday night and when we finished that install, we enjoyed his fully stocked bar, the leather chairs and a fantastic view of city - well into the wee hours...

Probably the install on a full weekend cut at a lawyers office across the street from the Santa Monica Pier. He owned the bldg, we had comp-ed food / drink from the bistro in the courtyard (he owned that, too) and he left his trophy wife as POC. Was she a looker! Dolly Parton with a California twist. Got done Monday morning, sat drinking coffee in the bistro, the guy we were sub-ed under wrote checks, we went to the bank before he could spend the money, and toasted Sunny Day (that was her name, really!)

Never got to go back but everytime I see the Santa Monica Pier archway on TV does it bring back memories. [Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]

All I can say is this system thou only 5 phones to 2 techs a full week to install. Something about hiding the cables.

First job in the biz was with a company that had a sausage maker for a customer. Every morning at 9am they'd put out sausages and cold cuts/sandwiches at noon, anyone in the building at the time was free to sample as much as they wanted. We'd always make sure to schedule our service calls around those times....
