Anyone have examples of support agreements I could look over? I am being asked to quote on one for a site with 2 systems and 30 phones. All VoIP. Email me, please.

Option gives access to software upgrades and up to 4 hours of labor to perform upgrade" Beleive this is what we currently have Shoregear 220T1A Shoregear 90V ShorPhone IP265 (5) ShorPhone IP230 (40) ShorPhone IP560 (1) Voicemail Server - Dell Power Edge R310

Dan - I've had arguments with Cisco people who think IPO is porpoise hork. Everyone has their opinions. I am looking at making money. The question is how to structure a support agreement where I don't lose money. Green is green.

I am looking at making money. The question is how to structure a support agreement where I don't lose money.
One would assume that if someone is offering a maintenance agreement for a particular system they would have enough experience with it to know it's failure modes, what it costs to maintain and also provide customer support.
As for not losing money, the only way to make money with maintenance is to have lots of customers paying into the pot. Like insurance, those who don't have problems pay for those who do. If you only have one customer you will lose money unless you can get them to pay your normal rates.

Hal - yeah, one would think. Not me, though. I fly airplanes, twins and singles. I've never flown a four engine plane but I could with almost no training. But I would not know how much it cost to fly per hour over it's service life.
OK that last part makes sense. They want 5 hours a month but I can't see them paying my rate for 5 hours. When you guys do SCs do you inventory replacement parts such as phones? Do your contracts exclude hardware replacement warranties other than manufacturer?

seems like you would need a crash kit and a reasonable supply of phones in stock so you could be sure to get them back up in a timely manner in the event of a crash
I realize you want to make money but you do the customer no favors if they crash hard and you're scrambling for parts
