How many of you hate when on a customers site you get blamed for everything that happens even if you just got there and didn't touch a thing.

Today I got blamed for a cell phone having no signal

NEC search for systems, cards, phones, software, manuals and repairs!

was working on someone's computer the other day..they were sitting next to me...she said "WHAT DID YOU DO TO THE PICTURE! IT DOESN'T LOOK THE SAME!" she then admitted it was because she was sitting at a different angle.
LOL

You don't want to get me started on this one. I went off on this subject before.

I can't help but bring up the story about one of my technicians in a company van stopped on the street near a fast food joint about a year ago. Suddenly, everything that goes wrong with people across the street's phones mysteriously have something to do with our presence. The conceirge in the building "spied" us out and was convinced that we did something in that "big green box" in front of Wendy's. Forget about the fact that we were working nearby due to lightning/power issues from the night before a few blocks away. The poor guy had been working much of the night and just needed some food. Look what he got for his hard work; a half-dozen accusations by being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

If the parking issue in DC wasn't so bad, I would consider using unmarked vans. We have to pay our people to disprove the fact that we didn't cause their call waiting to stop working. DC has a mind of it's own, and I am very close to putting a bullet through it.

Ed My computer broke and I'm sure it was while I was reading one of your posts. Can you send a tech ASAP to fix it, and I'm sure there's no charge because it worked fine before I read your post. Oh while your tech is here I have a couple other things they can look at so make sure they have every part ever made in the truck.

PS If no one is home when tech arrives have them wait I should be back soon.

No problem, your five year warranty should cover the damage. You might actually pick a few extra grand from the surge protector's connected equipment warranty as well.

Today i was the phone man who knocked out tv service for a large farmers market. The owners wanted to use Vonage for 3 lines on shared MICS system and 1 for fax. Talked to owner, said ok to installing and would set up time, {meeting last week}. This morning get call {owner}all lines dead on phone system, already ported over by Vonage. Decide i better take a look so i go over, find out he had purchased 2 Vonage switches{2 lines each}and plugged 1 into his linksys and ported all lines over yesterday. Thinking he needed a cable tv wire to MICS, he had 2 men run 550 feet of it to MICS {spent all day},only we had moved it 5 years ago to new addition 300' from old closet. The look on his face when i told him we didn't need it is hard to describe, any way found out there was one cable drop to entire market!!counted 9 spliters,3 power boosters on it and this was only near the drop what a mess. Found the cable feed, mounted it and new splitter in different area, moved comcast router, linksys, 2 vonage switchs and added some network drops, hooked everything back up. This took several hours only then would i run new cable tv wire back to point where rest of market jumped on. I'm thinking 90 days before return to pots.
