There is a spot in my garage that opens into the attic over the guest house. Just for kicks I shot the laser thermometer up there about 2 minutes ago. 130 Degrees even.

How is it up around you Merritt?

Anthony:

Your post brings to mind that commercial where the guy is walking home and looks up at his high rise apartment window and sees an iceberg around his window unit a/c. When he gets up there the dog is lying on his back spread eagle in front of it

If it was built in the last 10 years don't expect it to work right.

Trace the hottest I have ever been in was 163.

There were no soffet vents and the only place getting air through was the drop door to get in. I didnt even notice the lack of oxygen.

I don't recall if I ever told you the story about passing out and having my partner hose me down out front after I stumbled out of the attic.

Guys Trace bring a good point to the table. SAFETY is the most important thing we have going for us in the summer time. Keep in mind there is NO oxygen in an attic once it get too hot. you may not know it until its too late.

if you do attic work in the summer check the temp before you get in too far

I didn't check the attic, and wouldn't want to be in one. Yesterdays official high 112, today 109. I'm hoping for basements or air conditioned buildings until it breaks.
