Today is the big Green Bay Packer shareholders meeting which is officially the start of the football season here in Wisconsin. To tell you what a big deal it is... for a 2 hour meeting and a tour of the locker rooms... the State Patrol had to bring on additional staff to deal with the extra traffic heading up to Lambeau. Plus there are roads shut down around the arena for the pre and post meeting tailgaiting. They should just make this a state holiday. I took a day off last month to go up and watch them practice outside at the Hudson Center and there were crowds 3-10 people deep at the fence.

I'm ready to roll with the season. I hope we can make a winning year for Favre's "expected" last year. Well... I hope we can at least win more games then last year. Go Packers!

JWRacedog - if I was a betting woman, I'd take you on for that challenge. The Packers vs. Bears rivalry is about the oldest in the league. I think we have more hate for the Purple and Yellow next door but it's an extra fun game whether we play the Bears or the Viks.

I fear what the season has in store but we're crossing our fingers. We didn't look the best in practice but hopefully they'll get some momentum going. It's a whole new team, new kicker and new coach. We'll see...

I have been longing for those cold winter days watching football and having a blast. Maybe it has something to do with the 106 to 115 degree temps outside. eek

I was born and raised a Cowboys fan but I sure can't stand Jimmy Johnson. Nuff said.

We are all set up here. Got my Brown County tickets in the mail yesterday. I got the Atlanta and the Arizona games. Should be good. Also got my new 42" HDTV to wathch the rest of the games on. So if they do play lousy they will at least look good doing it..
I'm not making any predictions until we get that first game under our belt. But we still have to sweep both the bears and the vikings...the rest will be easy.....(I hope).....

Good luck to everyone.

GO PACK ! ! ! ! !

TelecomGod42 - I was wondering where you went to. Haven't seen you around lately. I was hoping you would chime in here pretty soon to help me defend the Pack. Enjoy the games. I will be home watching them but on a 20" but I'll be ready too. Have you noticed that the nightly news and top stories have been about football lately? Get us all excited for 8/12 kickoff!

Go Pack! laugh

Yup I'm still here. You mean there are other things to cover BESIDES the PACK???? Thats the best thing about the Packers....they are both NEWS and SPORTS.. The seats are in the "nose bleed" section, but at least I get something for that extra 1/2 cent taxes we pay here...

hey don't forget EAA is starting this week also. You must get a lot of stuff there from it.
It will be interesting to see how the trades and stuff work out from the new boss. It would be nice to see Brett go out on a high note.
We need another reason to name something "Titletown" around here.

Did you stop over to Krolls where you were here for a burger? Or maybe some Chili John's chili???

Just joke-in. The only real football is SEC football. And I don't take time time to watch that because if its football season it's really DUCK SEASON.

I'd like to say I'm ready, been that way for a few years now. Should be a fine year for us....and maybe make the playoffs. Now that we have a good coach and the draft picks and everyone is keeping themselves in shape we should be a tougher team to play than the last couple of seasons. I got Charlie Frye at QB which will be interesting, Kellen Winslow back on the field unhurt, a great running back, a few good recievers, and a finally a solid offensive line .....AMEN!

So "Let's Play Some Foootball" ....Go Browns :toast:
