Snoopes says this is undetermined, thought I'd share anyway.

Next time you're out in the tall grass, remember this one. This snake was recently found at the J & S Quik Mart located just south of RR 3014 Turnoff on Highway 281 south of Tow, Texas . [That's just west of Burnett , Texas ]

I saw small ones at Ft. Sill Oklahoma. Can't wait to see what the Texas members have to say.

It's just a baby. Good thing he didn't find the momma.

Killed a 5 plus footer about a mile from the office two weeks ago. Had to run him over 4 times to keep him from getting away. Shame the rattles got crushed.

And I was thinking of coming down to visit with Waine and find a nice old rust free pickup truck.
It doesn't have to be poisonous, I would die of a heart attack!

Make a deal with you guys south of the border....way south. You keep your rattlers, we'll keep the snow.

That was a big rattler even by Texas standards. Some of the snakes are incredible here. One year me and two buddies were in a boat south of here during the white bass run and during a lull in the action we spied a 7 foot plus beautiful Texas Indigo. The record is a little over 8 feet. It's girth was bigger than my calf and almost as large as my thigh. Being fueled by too many beers and too much time in the sun we beached the boat to get this guy. Visions of belts, hat bands, pics etc. The three of us hit the ground running and this monster turned and started chasing us. This beautiful shiny purplish monster had us screaming like school girls running back for the boat. He chased us right up to the waters edge. We still laugh about it.

Note to self: The next time you have to go through Texas, keep driving.
