I'm not a big supporter of going to the movie show but once in a while it's a nice change. It's hot here today so I decided to take some time to myself and check out a show...

My favorites are thrillers. "1408" stars John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson and was written by Steven King. Has anyone else gone to see it? I expected this to be a traditional thriller of King as it was rated right up there with "The Shining" and "Carrie". It received good ratings on the movie websites. I was personally very disappointed even though I do like Cusack. Two stars in my book.

Anyone out there rent or go and see any "good" movies lately? The neighbors and I plan to have some friends over for outdoor movies this summer and we're looking for something good under a variety of topics and ratings.

I saw Oceans 13 tonight. That, like Oceans 11 and 12, was good.

I rented The Godfather (NetFlix). It's a classic right? Top 5 of all time. ?? I don't think so. I got The Godfather 2 yesterday. I heard it was better.

As for outdoor movies. Planning to have any children present? Good luck with alllll that.

I actually went to the show to see Appocalypto. We sat in there 20 minutes waiting for the show when management came in and told us they could not show the film due to a hardware failure. Bummer! I see it's for sale now. Sounds like a worthy one to see.

My neighbor has a screen and a projector that he brings outside. It's pretty cool to sit out there with a bon fire going, watch a flick and have a beverage. That is until the bugs come out.

No kids will be coming to our movies.

Evan Almighty was just released on friday by Universal Studios. It is very funny and for general viewing. It was filmed in (mostly) Crozet Virginia.

A lot of movie goers were headed into Evan Almighty. I'm sure it will be a hit.

Maverick, with Mel Gibson, Jodie Foster, and ... whats his name... Rockford Files .... James Garner. Very funny. Good for a general audience.
