I bent 3 pins on universal slot 5 when installing a IST-8. I know should've been careful. Anyhow, No serial ports are working so I cannot log in and the serial integration is down. I took the cable off so at least a DID call to extension would go to the mailbox instead of box 800.

I picked up a new Maux II hoping the serial ports would work on it, and it didn't.

Is it the cpu/services board or the backplane that is fried?

Thanks.

Some pins on universal slots when bent cause grounding problems with the serial ports. If they are touching try to separate them. Some times you can log in with a notebook P.C. that is not pluggeg into AC and running on battery. If the P.C. logs in on battery you have a grounded pin.
