Yeah like I feel really bad for those people. Couldn't get their new toy to work. Boo hoo.

I just hope it distracts them enough that they drive off a cliff instead of cutting me off in traffic. smile

I SOOOOOO admire Steve Jobs. How smart is it to manufacture a "network meltdown" that is so far-reaching that it actually affects previous Iphone users? The guy is a marketing genius.

Considering how Apple clearly and deliberately left code in the original Iphone that allowed it to be so easily "unlocked" (trust me...I was an early hacker) and therefore untied to AT&T, is it any surprise that this CNN-planted article contains no less than nine instances of the phrase "AT&T"?

Apple is saying two things at once: "We've got a new kick-ass version of a hip phone" and "Sorry AT&T...I had a product to get out. Can we kiss and make up?"

Keep an eye on Apple. I think they're gonna give Microsoft a run for their money over the next few years.

Being the proud owner of a new macbook I'm going to agree with Tim - Watch out for Apple.

The damn thing is just so....elegant.

It just does the stuff you want it to do, with no BS.

Maybe I'll think differently when I've had it a few years, but I don't think so.

I've also got a new Ipod (replacing an old one that bit the dust) - also very nice.

To me the problem with the Iphone is AT&T. I had one of their phones and the network (at least here in NYC) sucked.

The troubles get worse. Apparently Apple did no beta testing as even on the older phones, once you take the 2.0 software upgrade, your phone will no longer sync with the Outlook Calendar on your computer. It appears that it's because you have to take the new version of iTunes to sync the phone. That version of iTunes causes Breakpoint errors as well and causes Outlook mail to become very lethargic.

Hmmm, would the progression of 'now that works, but this doesn't' that finally causes problems with outlook mail be a backdoor attack on MS, or is there an outlook mail for mac? "Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean someone isn't watching you" smile John C. (Not Garand)
