Ok, I'm sorry but very new to the phone system. There was a Network admin before me who setup the phone system and gave me no information on how it really works. So I've been piecing it together trying to figure it out. We have Comdial Impact 24 w/ LCD screens. We also use VMMI ver 15c to edit the buttons and extensions, which I've started to, sit down and play with it a bit. I wasn’t sure but we ordered a Comdial DB32 add-on because someone needs more buttons. When I plug it in no lights come on at all and or the phone itself when it’s connected through the DB32. So I went though the VMMI program and went to the person extension under STATION PROGRAMING then PHONE TYPES, and tried to change her phone from the Comdial 24 w/ lcd to the Digi tech 23 button console, I'm not sure if the Unit is bad or if its not compatible with out system. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know, or any place that is a good reference or books/pdf's to understand the VMMI software a little better. Do want to just go in and change settings and ruin stuff.

Thanks

Joel

Did you install it on the paired port? I assume your only adding one DSS/BLF.

Where would I go to find that information out or hook it up so its paired? Sorry still very new at this phone system, not afraid to change settings but if its not broke then don’t touch it. So I try to avoid making any changes or going in and messing around with the settings since I'm unfamiliar with it anyways.

Thanks

Joel

Paired ports are 10-11 , 12-13, 14-15 and so on.

The DB 32 needs to be physcally connected to its own port. In VMMI, you then programm that port to be a Digitech 32 button console. Then on the phone that you are adding a console to program console installed to yes and then program the console port under that to the port you just added.

Hmm... Well I'm sure I'm not installing it on a pair port, or even how to set it up as a paired port. She has a Comdial Impact 24 and I'm just trying to add the DB32 on to her current phone so she'll have more buttons. How would I go about setting it up with a paired port? Right now shes extenion 67 in the VMMI system.

Thanks

Sorry for being so new to this, kind of got it slapped in my lap

In your case you can use any port due to 66 and 67 are already used so put it on a unused port and program as Bigkayeh posted

Ok here is what I did I'm ext 36 and I'm going to use ext 82 for the DB

First I went to Stations: Station Programming: Phone Types: Went down to 82 and changed it to DigiTech Digital 32 Button Console

Second I went to Stations: Station Programming: Options 1: Clicked on my Extention 36, then Checked Installed box, clicked on Consoles, and added extention 82.

Last I went to Stations: Station Programming: Button Programming, I choose my extions 36, next to choose console 1... From there few buttons. Choose apply and logged out.

I was curious IF I plug this box is should I get lights at all? Even if its not configured? No matter where or whos extenions I plug the DB box into no lights come on at all. So I'm wondering if the box itself is bad?

Thanks

Joel

Or maybe its not compatible, I was comparing the digitech 32 button console and they look similar in the picture to the DB 32, so I wasnt sure if Im choosing the right phone type? I was thinking of ordering a Digitech console and trying that if this comdial DB 32 doesnt work.

Thanks

Try this, Intercom **3 press a DSS button and then dial a station number then speaker to end, press that button and see if it intercoms the station you assigned to it.
