It is bad enough that the retailers have taken the entire last quarter of each year and turned it into their own little profit paradise, but now employees are being trampled to death as a result of "Black Friday" hooplah (Wal-Mart* store, somewhere in Long Island, NY today).

I'm already sick to death at how retailers have taken at least two holidays and diluted their value to practically nothing. The true meaning of the holidays have been flushed down the drain by these very same retailers expecting to profit from them.

I truly hope that executive-level personnel are brought to court to answer to the charges surrounding this man's death. It is bad enough that these people have ruined the original value of Christmas, but when people start dying in the name of retail profit, when do we start holding them accountable?

I hear you Ed, but the retailers would not stand a chance if the general public would just stay home. Only the general public can change this.

Wouldn't it be nice if we all spent our time visiting each other instead of spending it in stores. That would be a real Christmas.

Amazing how so many are willing to forgo rational behavior for such a cheap amount. The sad part is there are more and more every day. Earth is an ugly place to be sometimes.

Beam me up Scotty!

You know you have to think about the fact that a single wall of people aren't strong enough to force open the front doors. It had to come from a swell of people in the crowed behind them. I'm surprised more weren't crushed.

There was also a shoot out in a crowded Toys R Us in California. Both men were killed. Something about cleaning the gene pool comes to mind.

A long time ago, I was a photographer in a KMart...I saw such behavior time and time again.
