Ok here is the problem using dx-80 w/33 software calls come in a the display shows the name, hit the button for number and there is nothing there. I have hooked up a cheap id from radio shack and name and number are being sent, works on norstar system also. I called Comdial tech and they said i must have the wrong type of ID service from my telco, but could not tell me what i needed. any ideas?

only phones programmed to ring will display CID or if the call is transferred there. The soft-key on the left is the one to toggle name and number.

phones do ring, and when you hit the left soft-key it goes from displaying the caller id name to the screen that is supposed to display number but it only displays line 1 incoming.

There is a CID ring time adjustment on F33 software that isn't on the F32 version. You might check on that.

Was the system always build 33 or was it upgraded?

If recent upgade. Did you convert the database or just pop in the chips? I have seen this cause software issues.

Have you tried it in a defaulted state?

I think there's a field in Call Handling that allows you to accept data for incoming calls. Check it out & see how its set
