I have a test lab at home for learning about phone systems and have a dxp plus up and running fine. It has a dst card, a ist card, and a line card. We use keyvoice voicemail systems at work so I want to learn more about them. So, I want to setup a keyvoice voice mail system at home to experiment with. I have a computer and a copy of the keyvoice software ( I will run in demo mode as I don't have dongle). As far as I can tell, the only other thing I need is a voice board. I don't know much abou this.
Questions:
1. What does a voice board do
2. Which ones are compatible with dxp plus and keyvoice
3. Where can I find a cheap reliable one.
4. Do I need to purchase anything else (cabling, etc.) aside from the voice board.
5. Is this difficult to setup. If you have any tips from having done this setup, please let me know.

Thanks!

1. What does a voice board do
It allows the software to answer calls and do it's magic.

2. Which ones are compatible with dxp plus and keyvoice
Rhetorex and Dialogic

3. Where can I find a cheap reliable one.
cost is relative and reliable = new with warranty.

4. Do I need to purchase anything else (cabling, etc.) aside from the voice board.
The dongle key and dos based pc

5. Is this difficult to setup.
relative, Like anything, it's easy if you know how.

6.If you have any tips from having done this setup, please let me know.

Thanks for response. I see a bunch of dialogic voice boards on ebay, but am not sure which might be compatible or best for me. It is just for testing at home so it doesn't need to be top of the line.

I will be running keyvoice version 11.1 on a win 2000 based server tieing to my dxp plus. I would like a pci card as the computer I am using won't have an isa slot.

Here is what I see. Can you recommend a few that you think would be ok? Here they are:

1. Dialogic Antares II 3000/60 PCI Voice Processing Board

2. Dialogic D/40B 4 Port Voice cards.

3. Dialogic D/42D-SL Voice Board Fax IVR

4. Dialogic D/121A

5. 2 port DIALOGIC D/21D REV 3 (D21D)

6. Dialogic D/41D 4-port voice mail card

7. Dialogic D/80SC REV 2

8. D41E D/41E D/41ESC voice processing Dialogic

They D41D card should work.

Keep in mind that Keyvoice used to look for signatures on the card in order for the software to recognize the card.

I would say unless you know the card came from a Keyvoice machine. You may not get it to work..

Another thing you need to look at is what type drivers load with the 11.1 software. If it has brooktrout drivers then you will need the Rhetorix boards.
