Tim, you're up sir.

......................

Married four time and I was known to be quite the ladies man. (Most people think of Curly as being a goofy looking tubby guy even though the ladies found him quite dashing and charming... And apparently he was a “sucker” for them too.)

I have two brothers that were also associated with the famous partnership, but only once did I work with both of them. (When Curly’s health failed him Shemp took back over the 3rd Stooge role. Curly had stopped by the studio while they were filming and director Jules White asked if he minded doing a cameo appearance.)

Other hints I had cooked up:
- The name I was known by is a witty misnomer but you could have also called me Jerry.

- When my health failed the brother that I once replaced, replaced me for what was only planned to be temporary amount of time. (Shemp was the original Stooge. He was offered another gig and chose to leave The Stooges before they had made it big. Curly was his replacement but only AFTER he shaved his head to look the part.)

- My act’s constant non-sibling partner was “Fine.” (Larry Fine)

- My act’s start was in Vaudeville, but the move to the silver screen was our break.

Apologies in advance if you find this one too easy!

I was born in Oklahoma.

I am very recognizable in drag.

Many statues of my likeness exist around the United States.

I was the first editor of a popular magazine.

Nothing?

Because of my well-known addiction, "hopping up" was a regular part of my workday.

Bless my maker...I was finally able to play the game the right way. I swear I never thought I could stump Dave.

YES! Wally Parks is the answer. The "drag" reference should now be obvious as well as "speed" and "hopping up". The 'statues of his likeness' refers to the bronze awards that are given out for the winners, and National Dragster was the magazine that he spawned and edited.

The NHRA is a customer of mine, so the solution was horribly obvious to me. This is why I opened my post with "Apologies in advance if this one is too easy". Though I haven't published any current photos, you can see some of the shots I've gotten from previous events here .

A6 is now in the pole position!
