You know, didn't they call them "laptop" computers for a reason?
Despite all the glowing reviews, this product won't benefit everyone. I offer you Hal's AMC Pacer as a prime example. You'll recall the custom vehicle
(snort laugh) we put together for Hal to come visit us at the Maine meet:
Less familiar to the rest of you is the custom dash and 8" welded chain-link steering wheel--a perfect compliment to the car's eye-catching exterior. Frankly, I don't see how that tray is going to attach to those links!
Clearly this laptop steering wheel thing is somewhat exclusive in that it leaves hardworking people like Hal to have to go find a proper desk to work from. Sheesh!
"Stay Organized While On The Road Increase Productivity & Efficiency". It makes you productive and efficient? Really? Well, you just keep telling yourself that. And while you're at it, be careful not to use your fat, Cheetos crumb-covered fingers to wipe the Pringles flakes out of your keyboard. You might careen into another lane and hit someone.
I'm warning the Canadians right now. One day we're gonna hear about an accident that was due to some idiot using one of the trays while driving. And when that day comes, it will mark that the end is near. I'll be heading for higher ground about that time, so save me some blubber, eh?
Anyhow, I expect the yet unseen story will read something like "Are Steering Wheel Desks Safe? We're here to investigate what price people are REALLY paying for the convenience of a temporary desk in their car. Just ask Los Angeles resident Percival Sweetwater, who remains hospitalized after suffering severe burns in his groin area. Mr. Sweetwater had made a longtime habit of using the Wheelmate for his beverages. His cupholders had long outlasted their usefulness as mini trash recepticals in which to place his empty cigarette cartons and such. So for Mr. Sweetwater, the invention was a lifesaver.
Or so it was until he came face-to-face with a perfect storm of events involving one piping hot cup of coffee and the need to make a sharp U-Turn."
