a member of the fleet has passed on, at the ripe old age of 300 000 kms my noble driving companion 2001 sunfire gt has gone on to smoother highways. At approximately 8 am a puddle was noticed growing underneath her. When i took her in it was diagnosed Water Pump, while normally not fatal, in a vehicle her age, and with her motor a water pump is a bigger job than most. So the descision was made to pull the plug. She started out in 2001 as the pride of the fleet, came into this world at fichault pontiac buick. She sat in the nursery, her stainless steel tailpipes glistening in the sun, her beautiful mags, how could one not love her. She sat at the head of the fleet for many happy years, a noble and reliable driving companion. In 2007 when she was showing her age a friend joined the group to share the work, a pontiac grand prix. Sunfire only had to worry about the winter. So there she continued to work, never letting me down, Even comming in to pinch hit in the summer if needed. Always starting first crack even after a long hibernation. The years were not kind to her, the battle scars from inconsiderate drivers and shopping carts were deep. Did she give up? NO there wasnt a spot of rust on her rickety body. She is resting now, visitation will be at the driveway she loved so much, in lieu of flowers please have your oil changed and car washed in her memory.

RIP noble steed.

My wife still mourns her '72 Chevy Biscayne. My '72 Mercury Comet (with the 302 V8) will always be in my heart.
