Real neat Merritt. I've got a son-in-law that should do it that way....he's useless with power tools. Wonder he hasn't cut himself badly YET.

The giveaway that this is fake? A REAL carpenter would have his safety glasses on. Heh. Yeah baby! Hollywood hits the ordinary man. This reminds me a lot of the Megawhoosh slide (part of a German campaign for Microsoft Project for which the "how we did it" is well documented). The other viral-marketing classic (created for a wireless headset manufacturer) is the infamous cell phone popcorn video. There are about a dozen flavors of the latter video, each with slightly different settings and often with mixed nationalities and languages. The "documentary style" footage, aka the shaky camera effect, lends to the believability of what you're seeing. But off-the-shelf software makes it super easy to track motion graphics "mo-graph" these days. My son made a video in high school using the same techniques. It involved running through a cave (shot against a green bedsheet) and...well, I'll post it if I can get him to send it to me. The other favorite of mine was made about seven or eight years ago called 405: The Movie and made by two young guys trying to bust into the biz. Go directly to www.405themovie.com to download hi-res copies of the work or to read about how they made it. For those who live in Southern California, the most astonishing thing about the movie was to see the southbound 405 empty during the afternoon!

Not to sound like a party pooper, but is there any reason why there would be sparks?
