I watched the first episode tonight. Awesome show with some great pictures of central offices, cut-up submarine cables, coils of undersea cables ready to pay out, more cell towers than you would ever want to see, service provider facilities, and much much more. I will be watching Wednesday night 2/10/10 for the second part of the series. Anybody else catch it?

Sounds really interesting, though I'm not sure if I get the Smithsonian Channel. I search for it and/or look on Hulu.com and such to find it elsewhere if necessary.

Tim - when you are around here please call me or e-mail me. Thanks for all of your knowledgable posts. I know you will enjoy this show. Time Warner abbreviates Smithsonian Channel as SMTHD I think.
