Basic Math.....1 ton=2000 pounds; therefore a 2-tin jack=4000 pounds.

Be careful if there is extensive rust damage as the car can collapse if suspended on two small points. Check your frame area and jack points for evidence of corrosion damage.

Funny. I've got a 2000 Dodge Ram in the exact opposite condition. Needs de-rusting...rest is in great shape. Need a van?

moore, since the house ive become a beater guy, i inherited my dads 1997 grand prix when he passed, its the summer car, bought a cavalier to replace the sunfire (and re use all the new parts on the sunfire) i am looking for a surplus police impala, to install the airconditioner from it into the grand prix (w body like the gp) the woman told me i cant own more than 3 cars at a time, so i got to lose the sunfire quick! shes gonna hate a car in the driveway with no wheels for a few days

I drive a 2003 Pontiac Sunfire. I love the car. Every darned day it gets me to work and back home again. It starts in -40 wind chills and I've done little beyond oil/filter changes. I just turned over 16,000 miles on it this week. At 7 years old, it's almost broke in. They do hold up well, body wise to salt and such.

My only complaint is the poor quality of exterior paint. GM was too cheap on the layers of paint. The black is fading and there are areas starting to peel. I do park outside all year long. I also wash it often and home wax it a few times per year. It seems to drive better wink
