Jack stands are a great invention... BUT NEVER EVER TRUST THEM ALONE WHILE UNDER A CAR (including your feet!) Take ONE more safety step when using ‘em... Slide a wheel and tire or block of wood under there... Or leave your actual floor-jack under the car TOO before sliding under it... Something else needs to be able to support the weight of a car, in the event a jack stand tips or fails. Well I should say something else beside your foot... or your arm.... or your ribcage.

I agree with Bryan, just force of habit for me but I never trust just the stands and every piece of farm machinery I jack up I also block with big pieces of lumbar.

i aint getting under the sunfire, its just to keep the oilpan off the ground until the grim reaper comes, i drove it 10 miles today (lost a gallon of prestone) it ran like the day i brought it home in 2001. im gonna miss her.
