I'd rather be from a state with that awful stigma "longest commute" than be from any of the others. Is that the worst they could come up with for New York?
Longest commute means that we are employed, we are willing to travel for a satisfying job, and we get a chance to read or think while getting to work. Compare to a few others, where the claim to fame is bestiality or lowest IQ or most trailers. I'll stick with NY, thank you.

I think the chart is a little wacky. Most corrupt going to the state of TN? I would think that would go to DC, and I'm sure the most trailer parks would proably go to FL. LOL.
Although I did agree with the "Most nerdy state" Ohio.

Sam Not to mention Tennessee Governor Ray "wanna buy a pardon or a liquor license" Blanton who won the Democratic party nomination over Jake Butcher in 1974 only eight years before the World's Fair.

Minnesota being the most tornados state? That seems kinda strange. Wouldn't a state in tornado ally have that title. Oh well, I guess im thankfull for not living in the most gonorrhea state. (Lookin at you Louisiana) :nono:

Hey Silversam, What were you doing when you were in Knoxville? I was there during the fair installing NEAX 22 at UT.We hit a 10" water main one day and almost flooded the fair site.Remember it was quite a chore to find a place to live until the fair left.I remember the Butchers but dont exactly remember what they did. Seems like they were big bankers, which is bad enough

I had been running the VA Bronx for UCS and was actually offered the job running UT. They wanted me and my two sub foremen. It (obviously) never happened because we couldn't agree on a reasonable compensation package.
I have friends in Knoxville and was down there a lot. UCS had just gotten the job and it was outside their usual Hotel type installation. I used to pass through Roanoke on my way down to Knoxville so the subject of my taking the job kept coming up. It finally fell apart because UCS felt I (and my two buddies!) should live with my friends to help keep the cost down.
I stayed in NYC.
The Butchers were bankers and politicians, and, if my friends can be believed (and why not?) were "crookeder then catsh*t".
I believe that is a uniquely East Tennessee expression.

Yeh, I know all about that " keeping the cost down thing", I worked for diddly considering what a PM is supposed to make and lived in a trailer 20 miles out while the fair was there, still wasnt cheap. But it was my first big job and I learned a lot.
