I'm trying to set up a Comdial DXP (circa 1995, software version 8C) with a PRI/T1 line and KeyVoice voicemail system. One of the numbers associated with this T1 needs one auto-attendant. Another number associated with the T1 should bring up a separate auto-attendant. There are also 4 fax lines that need to be pulled out of the T1 line through the DXIST-16 card in the DXP.

My question is, how do I configure the DXP to route all incoming calls to the KeyVoice system, and choose the correct routing box based on the number the call is coming in on? Also, how do I specify which numbers on the T1 are the fax numbers that should go to the DXIST card? Thanks for any help people can provide.

OMG!!! YOUR ON 8C. That is some very old software!!

To do what you want to do, you may not have the ability within the dxp software. you will need to upgrade.

What you want to do is give the D.I.D. numbers a vmail id. If you do not have this ability, you can use spare ist ports that forward to vmail and bring in their own digits. Then you can edit the trans.txt file and to route them where you need them to go.

I am guessing you keyvoice version 8.1 or older.

you will need a trained tech or at least pay bigdog for phone support if you feel comfortable working this yourself. There is too much involved to do this over the forum.

You definitely need to upgrade the system software to 15C because T1-PRI didn't start working flawlessly until about Rev 11A. Also you need to have someone assist you who knows what to do - my techs can't even catch on to the configuration and programming that is involved for what you are wanting.

All right, thanks guys.

I'm going to have the tech that used to maintain this system come in and see what he can do. Hopefully I can convince the higher ups to bite the bullet and actually invest in some new technology.
