Its a bad world out there folks. Derrick happy for camper sorry about the story to get there. We live in a very peaceful neighborhood in central Florida but things still happen. Because of what happened just a block away from our home all members of this family are trained and Concealed Carry License holders. I saved my own life as well as a neighbors and sent a knife welding idiot to jail.

I kinda wish I had gone to court...some people just don't learn. I had to pick her up in the car after she called me because that dog was running loose.
Apparently you didn't get a large enough settlement because they still own the house. For sure a jury would have been much more sympathetic. Around here these cases can result in million dollar judgements. They may not have it but you would at least own everything they have now and in the future.

Well Diane and I are forgiving people...we didn't want to ruin them but we also thought they would not have another dog terrorizing the neighborhood.

I'm sure Diane is going to carry emotional scars for the rest of her life. If that isn't going to ruin her I don't know what will.

I might be forgiving if the dog was just a normal pet owned by normal people that happened to get loose. Apparently those people have a problem and that's even more obvious when they go out and get yet another vicious dog after what happened to Diane. Criminal charges should have been filed the second time if the police had been doing their job.

a concealed carry permit is a pipe dream in the state of NJ. I have weapons in my home, all legal, but that is where they must stay. To be honest i really wish I could carry so days, some locations I find myself in while installing security systems are less then desirable

Can you get a carry permit on the basis of what you just wrote? The fact that you work on security systems, (responding into bad neighborhoods late at night to check alarms) should be reason enough to get a business carry permit. Even in the Socialist Peoples' Republic Of Nueva Yok, we can get them on that basis.

As this thread has taken way off course, I will interject.....KS has both open carry and concealed carry....IF you are not a convicted felon, you can open carry....IF you take the class and pass the local sheriff's background check, IF you haven't just got out of the local mental institution, yes, you get a concealed carry permit that, I believe, is reciprocal to 34 other states.
