Hello,

I need some help troubleshooting an older Comdial Impact 8012S-GT Rev D model.

Our company had seven lines in rotary using three of these models. We have recently cut down the lines to five. Outgoing calls would automatically go to line 7. Now that we have cut it down, outgoing calls are still going to line 7. How would I go about making outgoing calls go to line 5? Also, I hope this will not interfere with how the phone will pick up on line 1 with incoming calls.

I've emailed Comdial and they said it is a system programming issue and needs to be done by a certified technician. Is it possible to do without? Please advise. Any help would be most appreciated!

Thanks in advance,
Lawrence

The stations could be set up one of two ways. Prime line to a pool group or idle line preference. Is there anyone at your company that has done programing on the system before? I can try to help.

Thank you for your replies. Unfortunately, there isn't anyone here in the office that has had such phone programming experience. Everything has been set up since the mid 90's I'm thinking. I was hoping that this task would be easier than it sounded, but I suppose not. So, a certified tech is the proper way to go?

Unless you or someone at you company has programming experience on the DSU then you should get a tech to come in and change it for you, the impact is very easy to mess up while programming if you don't know what your doing especially if you don't have a DSS.

Like DTMF said, Comdial is not the easiest to program. I've help my own customers over the phone but I had the advantage of putting their system in so I know what programing they have. E-mail me if you wish but depending on your abilities, a technician would be the way to go.
