One of our extensions is setup to automatically transfer calls to a cell phone, and when we answer the cell, all we hear is our message on hold, not the caller. The caller also hears message on hold. Is there a string we need to type into the Call Transfer settings to get us both off hold?

It sounds like the Sequence to Initiate a Transfer (external) is not setup correctly. It's also possible that the phone system is not setup to allow it, or (if using Centrex for the transfer) you don't have Call Transfer capability on your lines.
