Our office has a Comdial 8024S-GT. When we get an incoming call, it rings at our attendant's line. Voice mail picks up, the caller hears the attendant's message and then is transferred to the attendant's personal line. It rings and then goes to voice mail. Then the caller has to listen to her outgoing message and leave a message there.
Can we program the phone so the caller can leave a message on the main line, and not have to be transferred to the attendant's personal extension?
In addition, we are having trouble changing the outgoing message on our attendant's/main line voice mail. Any ideas?

Yes, these things should be able to be done. However, the model you gave is actually the telephone model. Not to worry, that happens all the time. We will need to know the voice mail system type. If you know where it is located (phone closet, IT office, etc) you could describe it. Likely it will either look like a regular PC or a gray clam shell....but it could look different. Check it out and let us know. While you are at it describe what the telephone system looks like. Likely it will be a gray or black square box or a gray or black flat rectangle. Steve

The 8024S-GT is the model number for a black LCD speaker phone and not the system. Messages are not left on the main line but you can use the operator mail box which is what I think you mean anyway. Where is your phone vendor, they should be able to set this up and show you how to change messages. It depends on what voicemail box owns the routing box which is your main gretting. By default it is mail box 70. Do you have access to that mainbox?
