New to board-hello- we use a Samsung Prostar 816 plus. The music on hold is very low volume, feeding additional input (line level) from CD, -OR- adjusting internal trim pot is no help. The music is distorted when approaching a reasonable M.O.H. level. Is it a possible input op amp IC defective or anyone had this problem? Is a schematic avail somewhere? I have a lot of component level repair experience, could probably find this but can't drum up a schemo'. Any advice would be great! Deric

seen this before.

sounds like the MOH port was over amplified and got damaged.

Some people hook up an amplified signal into a line level input and crank it up.

I have never seen a schematic for the prostar.

You can always pull the MOH cord out and listen to green sleeves or home on the range!!! LOL

one other thing you might want to try, make sure your using a MONO mini plug and not a stereo plug!!

Hey Guys- Big time thanks for the input and advice. One of our part time installers put this in a few months ago and the prostar was a pull out from another facility. I did suspect a over driven input to the MOH. Maybe I can find someone who may have a diagram to look into a crapped IC. The MOH trim pot, again , does adjust level but I feel we have a Bad IC. I have over 30 yrs in electronic repair but hate to yank this board out, to physically trace the PC board with out having a manual. ( Business phone downtime) We are a design, install and repair of Sound , Lighting and Multimedia Systems. Again - thanks for the notes!!

Deric,
I'd be surprised if there isn't a coupling transformer at the input might be worth a check.
