Hello.
What is the difference between MMC 714(DID routing) and MMC 406(Trunk ring assignment)
They both seem like 2 different methods to basically route a call to a certain extension.
Does MMC 714 only deal with T1 lines with DID number which come in a TEPRI card and MMC 406 deal with analog trunks?
Can these 2 MMC conflict with each other if for example you assign trunk 701 to ex. 225 but the DID numbers coming in under trunk 201 for example is "4587" and " 4587" is suppose to be routed to ex 300.
Do you now have a conflect on where to route the call?

The difference between 714 and 406 is that 406 will route the call by port number... Basically that line 1 rings, line 1 goes to ext 201... etc.
With a T1 card, the port number does not correspond to the number that the outside caller dialed, so you have to use in-band info in 714 to route the call by the did info, instead of by port number.
When I was 8 yrs old my parents had me making CX and PX Cables by hand. Phones are in my blood.

oh... about that last part. dont try it. keep it simple, use 406 for analog lines, and use 714 for T1's
