Customer wants cell phone notification of voice mail messages on a F20 DX120 with PRI/DIDs.

I am trying to do this remotely using Teleparameters. Questions:

1. Should I put in a "9" before the telephone number?

2. Is a pause necessary?? How would I put that in remotely---??

3. I built a new COS with outdial and made the extension that COS. Does there have to be a reset for this COS change to take effect??

I'm asking these questions, because, so far, I can't get it to work using my cell phone as a test.

Can they get dial tone by dialing intercom 9?
Why don't you set the message notification feature through mailbox programming!
Outdialing has to be allowed and the line group designated and allowed for each voicemail port you want to use.

Ahhaa.... yes, they access the PRI by dialing 9.

I am programming through the option 5 of the mailbox.

I have allowed outdialing in the COS but I haven't done anything with a line group or the voicemail port use. I'll take a look.

Sometimes doing this stuff remotely is like playing golf at night.

What in the world are you guys talking about? The station user simply puts their phone number in notification in their personal options and they're good to go.

This has worked on all versions of the inskin mail and all releases of the DX80/120 with copper or T1/PRI lines(DX-120).

Am I missing something here?

nope. that's the way it works. press 3 for options and follow the prompts. I think Jwooten was thinking of transfering the call to a cell and not notification. If you want to do it remotely for him just call into his mailbox and use his MB options to enter the notification number. He could really do it himself.

Sorry I haven't responded. Got way-layed with a few moves & installations this week.

Mark & Bill, that's what I've been trying---remotely--but I'll try it again over the weekend. 3 for options then 5 for notification. If I can't get results, I'll go to site and try it. I want to do it first and make it work before I tell customer to do it.

I'm not by a system at the moment but there's a couple of settings under general or technical that that should have a 9, in it and the other field should have a T in it. If I remember right the T must be deleted.

I can't remember off hand what they should be (that old age thing hitting again) but if the settings are wrong then the system can't dial out on a PRI

Bill---yeah, me too. That's what is hard about remote Teleparameters---I can't really see. I have my Teleparameter code book all marked up with notes---next to all the ones I usually change; but I haven't ever done this remotely, so I have no notes.

I think I have a hard drive VM that I might fire up tomorrow to check out on my laptop.

I think the only thing I have to do is to program 1006, pick a VM port (line) and say "Yes". I believe that I've done everything else.

When I installed this I never programmed anything for outdialing.
