I have a 100 running v1.34 software. Problem is when the receptionist answers a call she hears a screech, she said it kind of sounds like fax tone. I've heard it once and it sounds like two microphones too close together. I also have a different customer that I have a call center setup. Same thing. 100 with 1.34 and everyone who answers gets this weird screech. Called tech support with no success. Anyone have any ideas? I've adjusted the volume setting on the phone and reset the system, switched out phones. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

How exactly does she answer if she hits the spk or ans/rls key before picking up the handset then yes you get a screech because your thought on the two mics is correct the mic on the keyset is very sensative and you are crossing paths with the handset if not that then I dont know

The screech happens whether she uses the handset or the headset. If I disable the headset or eliminate the headset all together the problem noise still exists. ??????????????????????

Does this happen on every call or just some?By you desribing ot as a screech could it be the caller id signal coming down between the first and second ring and call display is not being used on the switches?

Thats kind of what I've have been thinking. One of the customers I know has just turned up caller id and I have a misc card on the way. I am hoping that problem will clear when I install the misc card and enable CID on the trunks. But the one causing me the most grief does not have CID to my knowledge. After I install the misc, I will return and check out the other one and see if CID is on their trunks as well.

It's pretty easy to use a butt set and hear the fsk from the cller id.I have customers that don't use caller id but it is active on the lines.
