Here's how the issue started - Employee left and no one knows password for his vm ext. (203). I was put in charge of reseting his password. They didn't need the old voicemails and I couldn't find a way to reset the password, so not being able to find another admin mailbox besides the sysadmins mailbox (I can change the System greeting, delete subscribers and change the mode from here), I deleted the subscriber (203) and recreated it.
This works in that I can now get into the mailbox using the default password and can change the mailbox name, but that's it. The only options it will give me is the # option and 8 to pause. I can't check messages, create a personal greeting, etc.
If I call it from outside it says the name I set, and then calls the operator extension.
How do I get the voicemail functionality back?

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Mike

When you recreated it did you just add the extension? You can do that as well as add a mailbo or both. You should have set both.Go back in to the admin mailbox and make sure that you added a mailbox and not just an extension.

That did it I think, When I went back in to the sysadmin mailbox and entered 203 it asked me if I wanted to create a mailbox. I hit 2 (I think) to create it and it seems to be ok now...
Thanks!!

Now for the big question, is there a way to just reset the password on a mailbox?

Yeah unfortunately you have to delete the mailbox then set it back up again. And yes, you will have to create the mailbox and extension.
