Hi.
I have a few questions about the door phones.
1. Is it an Analog or digital device? I noticed they have a door phone interface module (DPIM) in order to use with a DLI circuit. Can it be connected directly to an SLI circuit?
2. Do you need 1 door phone interface module (DPIM) for each door phone? In other words, if you have 4 door phones, do you need 4 door phone interface module (DPIM) or can you used 1 door phone interface module (DPIM) for multiple door phones?
3. Are these door phones all universal?
In other words, could you use a Panasonic door phone with a Samsung system (provided you have a Door phone interface module (DPIM)?
-It seems strange to me that you need a door phone interface module (DPIM) to order to interface the door phone with the system and that you can't just connect the door phone directly to the DLI circuit. (Maybe all the door phones are outsourced from the same company to the different phone system manufacturers?)

OK richey, now if you had sixteen extensions and you wanted to put in 16 doorboxes, how would you program the 16th doorbox and where would the doorboxes ring? Ah haa, gotcha. And if you added 8 single line stations, how many DPIMs could you install, 16 or 24? Careful this is a trick question.
He he he he, just having fun.

Your right you need at least one actual keysey and you cant use sli ports.
I misspoke and admit that (good catch)
I assumed that the post prior made that clear that only dli ports can use the dpim but left out the fact that a phone has to ring when a door phone calls and door phones can not ring..... or can they? lol

If you call a door phone you get to listen but it does not ring. If you hear noise outside the front door, dial the code for the door phone and listen to what your daughter is saying to the young man then ground her as soon as she walks through the door.
Its just high tech snooping instead of fiddling with the pins on a diary.
richey is much faster on the ip programming than I am but its fun to catch him on little things when I can. Cat and mouse is fun and I'm the old fat cat and he's the fast wiskered mousey.
