I recently started working with the IDCS500 when I started working at my current job. We recently finished a construction project within our office and I moved the receptionist phone. Now I ran into an issue because the general voicemail box was not written down and the forwarding is not working correctly. Is there a program option within the OfficeServ Manager that I could find this number? Any suggestions would help. We have the SVMi-8 installed.

Thank you

well first Did you change extensions or did it remain the same?

your going to need hyperterminal and a serial cable to connect to the vm and check it.

post back when you get to that point

I agree with Wrichey, you need to hook up to the voicemail to see what your general mailbox is. In most of my installs mailbox 500 (default operator group is my general mailbox. You might want to check that mailbox. From the auto attendant what is said when "0" is pressed? Does it say transfering to operator or transferring to extension XXX? Where XXX would most likely be your general mailbox unless they name it. When some one dials 0 what group rings? Is it 500, 501, 502 etc. this might be your clue to what mailbox the general messages end up in. If it is auto forwarding you will defanitely need to hook up like wrichey said to wee where the messages are going.

Now that I have figured out which mailbox # the general mailbox is, I have another question. The issue that I am having is that since I have moved that phone(which did keep the same extension), the message that you get if no one picks up the main line is a one big loop. Once the main message is complete it is set up to transfer to record a message and instead it calls the operator group again and it continues to do this until you hang up or select a different option. It will not, however, let you leave a message in the general mailbox. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thank you

I believe that the 500 mailbox by default does not allow it to take messages.Weird I know but if you had it working properly before then it should still work the same.

Yep wrichey right, get a straight through serial lead female to female with hyperterminal connect to the card and choose "port activity" from the main menu. Make a test call and you will see each of the stages the call is taking and be able to fix the problem.
