We just got a OS7100 for our company to mess around with and get familiar with it. We are coming across a problem with the VM ports, whats happening is...when we dial the vm ports they pickup but no audio or voice is coming through. Weve had this problem with the SVMI 20E also. Any answer or fixes for this problem?

Do you have the licence to use the voicemail?

Does not need it in the States.

Have you gone through a reboot?
Check with Samsung and see if they have a patch for it.

When you are watching the port activity does it show anything?

I've initialized the voice mail twice and reprogrammed it. Still same thing. They (Samsung)say they never heard of that happening.

We installed a 7200 with SVMI20E and it does it when the company has a power outage and the battery back drains it power due to power being out for about a hour. When the power comes back and the system boots up sometimes the voice mail won't have voices.

Regarding port activity it shows the voice mail ports idle then processing when the call goes to it.

They are sending me a new MP10 card?

We'll see what happens.

I've come across this once or twice and samsung are unable to come up with a reason.
Usually if you hang up and redial the vm it will work.

Just wait longer after you hit the vm port, it will be there, just late.

nwilliams:

the port activity you are looking at is not the actual VM port activity, it's the port status. If you make a test call, then go into the Operating Utilities menu and look at the Activity Log, what do you see happening for that call?

We haven't been able to replicate this one in house, but I have seen it reported here on the boards a couple times, I just haven't managed to wrangle out any good details about it, so it's difficult to work towards a fix.

Shawn, I also had one. What we were getting was all the normal processing was taking place and the voicemail actually answered but there was no voice path. Almost like the mgi channels or whatever is controlling the audio did not setup the call properly.

Yeah, Shawn, I've seen it too, if you wait longer, the voice will catch up. Just ask your buddy in Phoenix. Processing gets so far behind from other utilities, that it seems like audio is lost, but its actually really delayed.
