Greetings,

We have an old Samsung Prostar 1224 that is headed south. Recently one port went completely out - gives "No More Calls" message and other phones lost programming showing "Not assigned" to preset keys. Also LED 1 (red LED) flashes rapidly. We would like to upgrade anyway so that we can transfer calls to external numbers and have voice mail.

I understand that our Samsung Keyset 824 phones are compatible with Prostar 816 and that Prostar 816 has been replaced by DS 616. My question then is our Keyset 824 phones compatible with either Samsung DS 616 or Samsung iDCS 100? It would be a huge savings to us to not have to replace phones too.

Thanks.

No they are not compatible. The 1224 and the 816 are analog systems. You will need iDCS phones to work with the DS 16 or 100. The DS 24D phones will work with the DS 16. The DS 16 has also discontinued.

Go with an OfficServ 100.

Ah, I see. Thanks for confirming my suspicions.

Without mentioning pricing, is the OS 100 comparable to the DS 616 or iDCS 100 on average? Of course are needs are:

1 incoming line with 5 virtual trunks used for rollover. We need only 12 stations/phones and voice mail would be nice but we have never had it and it might have to remain as it is being "pie in the sky."

Thanks!

The os100 and IDCS100 are in effect the same. The 16 weather it is called the ds or IDCS is fixed in size and maxes out at 12 digital stations. The 100 package has a Voicemail in it :thumb:
