Started this Post New, follow-up to Good Input Last Month.....Thanks People.

NOW, However:

Existing 3 CAB DCS. TrkA1 in 1st Cab with DLI's.
ROM2 and Cadence(last available slot).
Replaced EXPN-A with an A1

TrkC1's in Cabinet 2...EXPN B
DID card in Cab3...EXPN B

I did NOT pull the ROM 2 Card to read IC's
I did check Sys Version via software.:
V4.2 99.04.20
CPM V4.1 98.12.14
LPM V4.1

In my Office: I TESTED the used EXPN A1 in a DCS, single Cab with ROM1 & tested with ROM2. With 4.2 and 4.5 software.

Caller ID worked Perfect in my Office.

On Site:
I put a CID unit at the D-marc.
I AM getting CID there on Line 1 (701)
I programmed Line 1, on the TRK A1 Card in Cab1 but got "no CID DISPLAY"

I then ran the known good CID Trk (line 1)
to the TRK-c1 Card in Cab2, (703)
"no CID DISPLAY"

I programmed phones and Trunks in
119 Display, xxx Allow CID, xxx Trks for CID,
xxx CID STN Block.

I guess I could have fried the Card.
I HATE DOWN SYSTEMS WITH A CADENCE IN THEM !!
So I am gun shy.
I should have pulled the EXPN a1 and brought it back to test, sadly didn't have the old EXPN A with me.

ANY Thoughts?? Must be the Card. My Software should be high enough level.

You did not say that you took the rom2 card from
customer location and tested.

This is what I would do if I had the same problem.
After hours if you could take the rom2, EXPN-A1 TRK-C1 and install it at your office and see if caller Id. If all works bring all back to customer
and check to see if you really have the trunk ringing on the right trunk line you programmed for CID. Still no Caller ID check in systems timers.
You can adjust so it will look at the caller ID info longer coming in from the phone company.

let us know how you made out.

Note to others we all have different ways of trouble-shooting.

Good Food for Thought, fone32

I like the System Timers idea. I did look at that
but did not change anything.....
I remember getting :no CID DSIPLAY" almost immediately after 1st ring ??!!
Which I thought strange...I did have the receptionist NOT answer for 3 rings while testing.

I agree the full test is to use the parts involved, sans software.(rom2, EXPN-A1 TRK-C1 )

Can Someone Tell me, tho'
Where does Customer Programming Reside?
I expected the Rom. But If you turn off
the KSU battery it defaults, so I now believe
Prgm, is kept in the KSU.....True?

Obviously I have to Maintain Customer Programing.
Large Law Firm frown (no pcmmc)
So I don't dare jepordize the Software.

Again, with Cadence I am always shy about powering down.....tho' I've learned my lesson:
OTHERS, Listen, HALT Cadence Processing
Before Downing Power. 9 times outta 10 it
doesn't matter, but those are bad odds smile

Freash Set of Eyes....exactly what I was looking for.

I would suggest that you if you don't,program DT keys for the trunk you are testing on the phone. When a call comes in to that trunk you should see the DT light up red while the system is gathering the CID info. After that the trunk should flash green and ring the phone.

Interesting:

I haven't been back on site yet.
This thing should have just worked.

Two thoughts come to mind......
I didn't do a Card Install.
Never crossed my mind, EXPN for an EXPN,
same card. THAT could be it.

The manual says you will only get a
"no CID DSP" in Rel. 4 s/w WHEN:
no CIDDSP's are available. That that is an unlikely event and to call your service company.
This all points to the A1 card just installed.
Either it fried (it was tested good by ME),
or, hopefully, program:
"what the card is, not what it is not"....
I love that phrase.

In my initial testing I had set up my test phone IN the Operator group AND I had put the CID trunk on a button: DT710

Two Incoming CID timers in xxx. 1. address how long CID appears on the Telephone screen
and 2. something about:
" the amount of time the system will allow a valid message from the C.O."
Confusing . . .but I will play with that number in both directions.

Thoughts?

I'll post my findings.

Thank you for posting. I have removed the MMC's that are above user and admin guide or manuals. As per the rules of the board, please do not post installer information on the open board. Feel free to use your PM feature if the information you are requesting is beyond the scope of the category.

I have also removed a link to a manual location that is not housed here.

Thank you for understanding.
