Have you got a misc card installed. Find problams here that the pabx works in slow motion sometimes. You would dail digits and the pabx won't repond straight away. Found no solution yet but you can remove the card and see if it still gives the same problem

Are you on a telephone service from a cable company? I had the same digit-doubling problem for weeks, on a ProStar system that had been working perfectly for years on Verizon copper. When the customer switched to Optimum Voice, they started having the problems. It took a lot of arguing, demonstrating with 2500 sets, and a Digit Grabber, until they agreed to check their amplifiers along the route, It was an amplifier that was doing the doubling.

Would an isp type problem causing this show up when you press redial? When you press redial the doubled digit is still in te number
